What is the Dashboard?

The MN School Dashboard gives teachers, counselors, and administrators a view of each student’s learning nature — how they tend to engage with situations, which kinds of thinking come most naturally to them, and which patterns (NatureTypes) are active for them.

Staff use this information to have more informed conversations with students, adjust how they present tasks and expectations, and notice when a student’s profile suggests a mismatch with how they are being supported.

  • A profile for each student — based on the student’s own responses to the Multiple Natures Assessment (MAP). The profile shows nine Nature scores, ten Intelligence scores, and the NatureTypes that are active for that student.
  • Class-level completion — how many students in each class have a complete profile. Students without a complete profile have no data to display.
  • A counselor queue — a prioritized list of students who have been flagged for counselor attention.
  • Aggregate reports — school-level and class-level summaries of readiness indicators across the student population.

The dashboard is not a behavior tracker, a grade book, or a mental health tool. It does not:

  • Record grades, attendance, or disciplinary history
  • Replace counselor judgment
  • Diagnose learning disabilities or emotional conditions
  • Generate recommendations that are binding — all profile information is context, not prescription

The student’s profile reflects how they engage situationally. It is a starting point for better conversations, not a final word on any student.

Each student’s profile is generated from their responses to the Multiple Natures Assessment (MAP). Students complete the assessment once. The results are used to produce their profile, which staff can then view in the dashboard.

Staff do not create or edit student profile data. If a student’s data looks incorrect, contact support — do not attempt to adjust scores manually.

Three staff roles exist in the dashboard, each with a different view:

CounselorOverview, Counselor Queue, Reports
AdministratorAll pages, including Admin

Student-facing views never include flags, calibration notes, or staff annotations. Those are staff-only.
